Demak, August 7, 2025 — The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) has expanded its collaboration network by forming a strategic partnership with the Environmental Agency (DLH) of Demak Regency. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the DLH office in Demak.
This agreement reflects the commitment of both institutions to strengthen synergy in the academic sector while supporting the implementation of the tridharma of higher education, which includes education, research, and community service. The event was attended by the Vice Dean of FEB Unimus, Dr. AM Juma’i, SE, MM, along with faculty leaders and the PPK Ormawa IMM Asy-Syifa team. They were warmly welcomed by the Head of the Demak Regency Environmental Agency and its officials.
In his remarks, the Vice Dean of FEB Unimus stated that this collaboration represents a concrete step by the university in building cross-sector partnerships, particularly in addressing environmental issues that are increasingly urgent and require comprehensive, academic-based solutions.
He also expressed hope that this partnership would enable lecturers and students to actively contribute to solving environmental challenges in Demak Regency, both through academic activities such as seminars and discussions, and through direct involvement in community service programs.
Several programs have been planned as part of this collaboration, including seminars and thematic discussions on environmental economics, community-based waste management training, joint research on the economic impacts of environmental pollution, and community empowerment initiatives focused on environmentally conscious economic practices.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Demak Regency Environmental Agency welcomed the partnership and emphasized the importance of translating the agreement into concrete actions that deliver tangible benefits to the community.
Through this MoU, FEB Unimus continues to demonstrate its commitment to addressing sustainable development challenges while enriching students’ learning experiences through real-world engagement beyond the classroom.
This strategic collaboration is expected to serve as the foundation for a long-term partnership that brings mutual benefits and contributes positively to scientific development, community welfare, and environmental sustainability in Demak Regency.
