Semarang | October 21, 2025, The Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences (FIKKES) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS) conducted a Basic Trauma and Cardiac Life Support (BTCLS) training program aimed at strengthening the professional competencies of its students. The activity was carried out in collaboration with Ambulance Gawat Darurat (AGD) 118 and served as a structured effort to prepare students for handling emergency and critical care situations in clinical practice.

The training was attended by students of the Nursing Professional Program and was designed to provide both theoretical understanding and hands-on simulation. Over several days of implementation, participants received intensive learning covering essential emergency care skills such as initial assessment, airway management, resuscitation techniques, and trauma handling procedures, which are crucial competencies for healthcare professionals working in hospitals and emergency settings.

According to the organizers, this training is an important requirement in nursing education as it directly responds to the demands of the healthcare industry, where emergency response skills are highly valued. The program also aims to improve graduate readiness and competitiveness in the job market, particularly in hospitals and healthcare institutions that require certified emergency care competencies.

The collaboration between UNIMUS and AGD 118 has been continuously established to ensure that students gain updated knowledge and standardized emergency training aligned with national and international healthcare practices. Through this initiative, FIKKES UNIMUS reaffirms its commitment to producing competent, professional, and globally competitive nursing graduates capable of responding effectively to emergency medical situations.
