Semarang, January 22, 2026 — Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS) hosted a socialization and presentation session in collaboration with Cambridge University Press & Assessment to introduce the Transformative Agreement scheme and the use of e-textbooks as part of strengthening academic learning and publication.
The event, held on Thursday (January 22) from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, featured Jona Giovani, Account Manager for Indonesia and Malaysia at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, as the main speaker. During the session, participants were introduced to various digital learning resources developed by Cambridge, including the Cambridge Aspire platform, which provides online textbooks to support higher education learning.
Through this service, the UNIMUS academic community can access learning materials flexibly, both online and offline, via the Cambridge Spiral application, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of digital-based teaching and learning activities.
In addition to digital learning resources, the session also highlighted the Transformative Agreement scheme, a strategic partnership designed to help universities address the high costs of Article Processing Charges (APC) for Open Access journal publications. This initiative is expected to provide greater opportunities for UNIMUS lecturers and researchers to publish their work in internationally reputable journals.
Through this initiative, UNIMUS expressed strong support for Cambridge’s efforts to strengthen the academic ecosystem, particularly in advancing digital learning and improving research productivity and scientific publications.
This meeting is also expected to mark the beginning of a long-term collaboration between UNIMUS and Cambridge University Press & Assessment in promoting the internationalization of higher education, especially in the areas of learning, research, and academic publishing.
